CJ's Vision Therapy

Another journey begins!  We took CJ for his first vision therapy visit yesterday.  We were all quite excited with anticipation.  When we arrived, everyone made us feel welcome.  CJ was eager to get started. When we first began, they went over all his "homework" with us and showed us how to do each exercise.  He was able to do all the exercises, although some were easier for him than others.  It was strange to watch him go through the exercises and not be able to complete them.  One specifically he had trouble with was being about to follow the end of a stick without moving his head.  You could see his eye jumping as they tried to keep up with the end of the stick.  Smooth movements is what we are moving towards.  His eyes would get so tired at times they would just stop.  He'd blink and re-focus on the stick. He did several series of exercises, each lasting 2-3 minutes.  He seemed to like the ones where he either got to wear ...

CJ's Journey

I'm feeling very called to blog about this journey with CJ.  As you know, CJ has dyslexia and we have now discovered another issue with his right eye.  We are seeing 2 specialists this week that I hope answer prayers and questions.  I feel that the visits this week are going to lead us to some difficult decisions but I do feel that after the treatments, CJ will see things in this world like he never has before. I pray the Lord puts us on the path with the correct therapist and that CJ can be assisted through the therapies.  I don't pray for healing because I truly feel there is a reason CJ has dyslexia and is on this path.  This is the way God wanted CJ and I would never pray to change that.  I only pray that I can put the resources in his path that he needs to help him.  I feel like God has put that in MY path.  There are so many people working to assist CJ on a daily basis.  God single handedly chose each of those people to put in CJ'...
